new lens + dogs.

my new telephoto lens arrived a few weeks back, but never had a chance to use it! finally pulled it out the other night while the doggies were playing in the backyard. aren't they cute? i love that i can snap some 'candid' photos without being right on top of them. or having lillie try to lick my lens.

no links this week. i really need to re-evaluate my thoughts on blogging. i love sharing my ideas, projects and photos, but don't even post half of the stuff i do because of some mixed feelings i've started having over the last few months. maybe more on that later...

have a great weekend!!

friday links and a gratuitous dog photo.

this is the view i see most days when i pull up in the driveway and d has beat me home. lillie peeking her little face out at me from between some fence posts (that need some help!) she can be such a brat sometimes, but that sweet little face always saves her.

this week has really been something else. i know i'm not the only one that hasn't had a great week, so i'm just chalking it up to stress and the full moon.

here are some links from my week...

elle apparel posted some beautiful home facade photos. i love to dream about building a home someday and the outside looking like a well-kept older home.

i love this diy ombre shirt from c&c. now to just dig through my closet for some shirts that need some love...

these fabric pom poms are beautiful!! must. make. some. immediately. on a subtle revelry.

have a great weekend!

lillie is 1!

i guess i should mention that our little puppy is 1 today! we were not her first 'parents,' but the folks we got her from had two very small children and didn't have the time to spare for a new puppy. we took her home about 6 months ago and she is a completely different dog nowadays. while she is still really rambunctious, we're hoping she'll calm down even more as she gets older. happy birthday lillie!

doggies!

i've been playing around with the various settings on my camera... and finally got some decent photos of the dogs. the white pup (lillie) is a new addition and got her first haircut this weekend. we have since removed the bandana... she didn't quite like it that much, but it sure was cute! i couldn't help but post this photo of scottie. i just love his ears. we call them the satellite dishes...

weekend project.

i actually got a few things done this weekend, and one of them was this little project (above). i found the oval frame at a thrift store a few years ago and just knew it would be good for something. i've seen so many silhouette projects lately... but i think making these of your pets is just way too cute. i finally snapped a few photos of scottie that would work, and traced them in illustrator, sized it to fit in my frame and printed it out. i knew i wanted to put it in the downstairs bath (whenever it gets finished, that is) so i wanted to keep it really simple. some black spray paint, some pretty paper and black cardstock... a few minutes to cut it all out... and now we have a wonderful keepsake of our little dog.

did you all have a nice weekend?

scottie time!

scottie decided he wanted to hang out in the kitchen with me as i was taking a few photos the other day. he really doesn't like the camera... but i am determined to get a few good photos of him someday. this is one of the few that isn't blurry with movement!
