work + papercuts.

i love it when i propose a cool/outside the box idea to a client and they say yes! (you know, instead of looking at me strangely) i don't want to say much except that these are for the next issue of pulse magazine and i am super excited about the way this feature is going. i work with some wonderful people to put this publication together and am very thankful for their open-minds... otherwise, i wouldn't get to do half the fun things that i do! here are a few... and yes, they are all made out of paper! and are pretty tiny... that graduation cap is only about an inch tall! it has also been fun to photograph these...

gifts for a baby boy...

anyone who knows me, knows that i love paper. any kind of paper. but especially pretty paper. i've had this stash of martha stewart gift wrap sitting in my studio closet for several months now... just waiting to make someone's gift beautiful. since our friend mat and stacie are expecting a baby boy here pretty soon, i decided it was time to put away the gift bags and bring out the paper.

my kitchen, ladies and gentlemen, is the place where i take all of my product pictures. it has the most gorgeous green paint for the backdrop, and my antique vintage table (refinished by my father-in-law!) makes a great place to display pretty things. i promise someday i'll show you my whole kitchen... but it needs to be on a day when it's clean-er :)

i was afraid doug was going to confiscate that little green monster when i brought it home from babies r us. it makes the cutest little 'blaaahhh!' sound. i personally thought that was a sound every child needs to learn how to make.

to sell or not to sell?

i've been contemplating what else to add to my etsy store, and though i've seen tons of magnets listed on etsy, i still can't help but think how cute and fun they would be to make... so i made some! they were super-easy to put together, and look great on my fridge. i've been thinking of offering them as custom items in my store (for brides to pick color-coordinating papers, i make... and then the bride gives away as favors to guests). maybe even printing up the couple's monogram and wedding date and they could be mix and match magnets! any thoughts on this you would like to share with me? good idea, bad idea, amanda..you're crazy!? i guess it's one of those things i'll just have to add to the store and see what happens...
